Echelon Records is an independant record label based about thirty miles south of Nashville in Spring Hill, TN.
Why the name Echelon? Originally, we were just a recording studio and the name was going to be "Upper Echelon". While the studio concept was still in the development stage, there were many conversations about what we wanted to offer, who would be our market, etc. In one of those conversations, the comment was made - "When people come here, they need to walk away with no doubt in their minds that they couldn't have gotten a better deal anywhere else on the planet. In order to succeed, this studio needs to be the upper echelon of independant studios." The "upper" was dropped and the name was born. Since then, we've grown the studio into an independant label so that we can better control the quality of our product and help artists bring their music to people a little more easily. Being small and independant allows us the versatility to offer a broad range of choices in music production - from rock to blues to country to anything in between. One thing we require of all our artists is that they must be able to "walk the walk". We won't be using "studio magic" to make an artist sound like someone they aren't. If they're signed with us, then they can perform - both in the studio and on stage. When you see the name "Echelon" on someone's CD, you know that you are getting a quality product right out of the gate.
